The Story Behind the Portal
The Heritage & Legacy Portal was born from a singular vision — to ensure that the sacred artefacts, documents, and memories of the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan would never be lost to time. What began as a modest archival effort has grown into a comprehensive digital platform spanning museums, libraries, and community heritage projects.
At the heart of this initiative lies the Felix Alaba Job Legacy Collection, the founding collection that inspired the creation of the portal. Assembled over five decades by Archbishop Felix Alaba Job, this extraordinary collection of sacred vestments, liturgical vessels, devotional art, and personal memorabilia forms the cornerstone of the archdiocesan heritage. Each artefact tells a story of faith, dedication, and the spread of Catholicism in Western Nigeria.
Today, the portal continues to grow through contributions from parishes, religious congregations, schools, and individual benefactors who share our commitment to preserving this living legacy for generations to come.
